Addendum

This addendum is meant to tackle the question "What if the Technique is not working for me?".   To address this concern, I have a proposal for a solution that reflects the content of this book, but is speculative, and thus it stands apart from the main material.   For the purpose of this body of work, we can call this proposal the "Backup Plan" method.

Before proceeding, let's revisit Chapter 2 The Approach of this book.   Recall from the latter half of this chapter that there are five "Active Measures" that are all contributing factors to the Technique.   Let us briefly walk through these items again but in a more generalized context.   The concentration and focus factor, in a nutshell, is the idea that she has to shift from a passive participant to an active and intentional participant so that she may carry through her own agenda.   The coordinated muscle control factor is about actively being in control of her own facilities through the movement of her body to indirectly make the required stimulation happen in another area of her body.   The placement of the nerve endings refers to the nerve endings that go through her inner clitoris and are available in the forward wall of her vaginal canal.   And the light pressure and stroking motion is about the frictional stimulation needed to trigger the nervous system response of orgasm.

Narrowing in on the factor for the "placement of the nerve endings", in truth, the network of nerves that go through her clitoris is broader than just the ones she can access so closely to the inner clitoris.   They also extend to the flesh of her vaginal opening.   Because of the nerve endings placed in this location, she can feel initial penetration.

So now, what if a woman were to take the same idea as the Technique, but instead of focusing the contact on her inner clitoris, she focuses on her vaginal opening?

With this shift in focus, there are two main points of emphasis to highlight.

The first of these points of emphasis is the difference in the amount of nerve endings between these two areas and therefore a difference in the sensitivity of each of these areas.   The inner clitoris is highly sensitive.   But the vaginal opening is less sensitive in comparison.   The inner clitoris has only one function—to be available for inducing an orgasm—so it is optimized for this singular purpose.   But the vaginal opening has multiple functions including sex, discharge area for menstrual fluids and the birthing of children.   If the vaginal opening had the same level of sensitivity as the inner clitoris, then changing tampons, visiting the ob/gyn and giving birth would be orgasmic events for women.   But instead, these activities are not particularly stimulating.

To say that the inner clitoris is more sensitive is the same as saying that this region is more responsive.   The inner clitoris responds faster and will be a quicker route to orgasm than focusing on the vaginal opening.   With the Technique taking around 30 seconds or so, for me, it was such a short and quick event that my partners did not notice that I was using the Technique.   I do think they had some level of pattern recognition, but this was as far as it got and they never stopped to ask me what I was doing.   It was seamless to their awareness and this meant I never needed to ask them for any modifications or to take me into account.   The short duration of the Technique helped me work around him to make sure I got what I needed and then he could attend to what he needed from me.   If the Technique can be achieved in just 30 seconds or so, then vaginal opening stimulation might take something more like a minute.   This point leads to the conclusion that the difference in sensitivity will likely result in a longer duration event if she chooses to instead target the vaginal opening.

Now for the second point of emphasis, consider how the light pressure and stroking motion is achieved and how that might need to be adjusted.   With the Technique, the action is happening while he is either fully or mostly penetrating her and this is part of why it can be undertaken without his awareness.   But full or partially full penetration is not very stimulating to the vaginal opening—if it were, this book would not be needed and many women would be a lot happier than they are.   Instead, only initial penetration is felt through the vaginal opening.   Essentially, all that women can expect to feel is pretty much limited to head penetration.   So to keep continuous light pressure and stroking motion on the vaginal opening means contact with only the head of the "male implement", back and forth, repeatedly and continuously until she reaches orgasm.   To conclude this point, the vaginal opening stimulation needed to induce orgasm requires continuous and uninterrupted replaying of the head penetration move until the orgasm is induced.

Let's consider these two points side by side.   The combination of how long the process of vaginal stimulation might take and the question of whether he is willing to relax and allow her to engage her own body in only head penetration, for this to work—regularly and maybe at all—she will probably need his cooperation.   Depending on the male that she is with, getting a meeting of the minds could be simple, or it could be a difficult journey or it could be an impossible hurdle.   With the general concept of focusing on the vaginal opening being so simple, the trade off is that she will likely need to engage in communication with her male partner because, for men, the idea of limiting themselves to head penetration for a duration of time is not a move they normally make.

At the risk of being overly prescriptive, I'd like to explicitly state what these points are suggesting and be detailed in what this looks like to her.   Her male partner will be in the "inspired state" and he will remain relatively still for the amount of time she needs.   He will be lying on his back.   She will be on top of him, belly to belly.   She will position herself in a way that facilitates head only action.   Using her outer body movement, she will control the point of contact so that she has repeated head penetration, back and forth and at her own pace and pressure level.   At first, this will feel mildly pleasurable to her, but after a certain point she will start to feel the build up towards orgasm.   Experiencing the orgasm is what makes the sexual encounter worth it to her, more or less.

There is one additional detail I'd like to include relating to this topic that would be helpful for her to know in advance.   This detail is based on a hunch of mine, so take it with a grain of salt.   I believe that the stimulation for the Technique might not be happening from the tip of the head of the "male implement", but rather from the "ridge" that forms between the head and the shaft.   A pronounced "ridge" might need to be present in order for her to feel the sensation of rubbing against the forward wall of her vaginal canal.   I've been lucky in that my most successful partners have had this feature, but I'm not sure all men do.   This means, there is a possibility that a man she meets and decides to be intimate with won't have what she needs in order to make the Technique work for her.   In that situation, she might need to make this "Backup Plan" method her main way of achieving orgasm during intercourse.

The reason why I label this "Backup Plan" as speculative is that it is inspired by an occurrance similar to what is being proposed in this Addendum.   When this happened to me years ago, it marked the second time in my life where I had an orgasm when I wasn't expecting to.   But becaue I already knew and had developed the Technique for myself, I wasn't curious about how it happened and I shrugged the incident off as an anomoly.   Only after going through the work of writing this book did I start to realize how this isolated incident actually fits the same mold as the Technique.   In hind sight, I now realize that I probably could have developed this concept in the same way as I had the Technique.   So if a reader takes this idea and runs with it, she would be going places I've not gone before.   She may end up discovering things that would be new to me.
